Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

I had a pork souvlaki plate. It came with a Greek salad and lemon rice. The souvlaki was good. Well seasoned and hot off the grill. The salad dressing was the best part of the salad. The rice was also good. It wasn't very lemony (which I was happy about). But had more of a savory flavor. The pita was in triangles and was par for the pita course. There's not a lot that makes Mykonos stand out, but not a lot that condemns it either. A middle of the road choice for a food court that has a few really solid options.

Sure it is a food court, sure it is a mall, but the service here is so SLOW!! Only the two women who work there seem to care about the customers.

Meh. The gyro is just chunks of meat, not shaved meat. The portion size is average. I could probably eat two in one sitting. The plate meal seems to be a better deal and a better portion size. That is... American portion sizes. You only get one refill. The baklava is average but the size is above average. Not a whole lot to say about this place.

The slowest fast food in the food court. Waited quite some time to give them my order as the girl at the cash register was having problems and there wasn't enough staff there to step in and help. Finally ordered then waited twenty minutes to find that me and a few other guests had the same order number which was causing lots of problems. Finally got my food (well after the rest of my party was finished with their meals from other eateries) to eat very subpar food. I did like the soft pita, but the salad was underdressed and I've never had such dry and flavorless falafel. It was definitely not worth the wait. Went to get a refill on my drink after seeing other guests get refills and was told I had to pay for another drink if I wanted a refill (not to mention stand in their ridiculous line again). But other guests didn't have to pay? Will never be going back as the food, service, and extremely long wait are not at all worth it. Not to mention you can get much better food elsewhere for the price!

The food is ok, not great and the service is sub-par. For serving a typical "street cart" menu, they service was painfully slow. One woman was cooking while a man (owner/manager?) was chatting in the back with another employee.

I have frequented this place quite a bit. Three times now in fact. I always go with the chicken salad which may be a safe bet. The dish comes with a marinated chicken kabob on a bed of lettuce with tomatoes, feta and a creamy dressing on a bed of rice. The plate also comes with a pita. It's cheap ($7 something), everything is fresh tasting. The rice as been previously remarked is not lemon rice, it probably has a little butter in it, but I'm not sure of any other details.

I am surprised by the poor reviews for this fast food restaurant in a food court. Being gluten free I have only ordered the gyro plate (without the bread) and have always found it well cooked and the gyro meat is always nicely seasoned and succulent. The lemon rice is a great option instead of fries and the salad has always been fresh.

I work very close to the city creek mall food court and frequent the restaurants often. In general I love Greek food! That said, this location has some things going for it, but some major problems against it. ON the positive side, they know how to make your classic Gyro (good ole greek taco goodness) ! They have Gyro variations (kind of fun to try)! They have fries (not exactly greek, but all greek places do it, and do it well). They have dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves, i recommend them).. they have daily meal deals!... down side, they are over priced! I wont buy anything significant unless it's a daily meal deal. I've learned that if you buy one of their "plates" or "meals" or whatever they call them, its mostly a bunch of filler. Why pay 8-10$ for a significant portion of rice and iceberg lettuce with little substance? Another big problem, They are SUPER SLOW! it's embarrassing, they need serious outside help, this is a long standing problem they just don't know how to fix. Overall, this is a good place if you know how to use it, try call ahead ordering if you can

Trust the ratings. I should have. I generally won't eat anywhere that has less than 4 stars. This place is bad for Greek food. Tons of cheap fillers instead of meat. We came for a Gyro and a Sandwich. It took them 12 minutes to make the sandwich. During that wait, my Gyro became a cold Gyro (gross) and the pita was DRY. The sandwich was good. The service was condescending. After an aggressive hunt for the meat in the Gyro I finally found it under their "red" filler which is a mix of tomatoes and onions. I had asked for this to be served on the side. It wasn't. The old 80/20 rule (80% meat and 20% filler) was reversed with 20% meat. Very disappointed. The fries were good. So was the fry sauce that I made on the side from mayo and ketchup packets. Again - trust the low reviews. Save yourself the $$$

I was skeptical about eating here because of the previous reviews, but I am only in town for a few days and really wanted Greek food. I had the traditional Mykonos gyro, and it was very good. The meat was a bit well done but it was tasty. I would eat here again. Don't let the bad reviews away you a different way.

It's unfortunate that some of the worst Greek food you'll find in the state is right here in City Creek. Always slow, slightly overpriced, and never as good as you expect it to be. Oh well, at least you've got other options.

So you should just not waste your time or money and go elsewhere in the food court. There is a reason for no line at this place. I got the gyro plate with lemon rice which was color yellow but sure was bland and gross. The dressing on the salad is not good what so ever and is just tart and nothing like Greek dressing. The meat was alright but was burnt to a crisp in a lot of place. And to finish was my side of the white yogurt sauce. That sauce is why I'm writing this review. In it was a thick black hair. There is nothing more disgusting then finding hair in your food. Then I couldn't finish my overpriced lunch. Don't go here.

I'm surprised at all the negative reviews of this place. Thus far I've had the falafel, chicken kabob and classic gyro and thought it was all very good. Maybe I was just really hungry each time, but I plan on coming back for more.

Very bad tasting good in a great location. Falafel was under cooked and not tasty Rice was bitter Good thing is there are alternatives next to it

Just waited 25 minutes for my food. Twenty. Five. Minutes. No apology, no offer for a refund, they didn't even bag my utensils when I asked for it to go. They have been opened more than long enough to have worked through these growing pains. The food is decent, but not even close to good enough to make it worth spending half of my lunch break waiting for them to fill my order. After months and months I've slowly started to return here when other places are too busy to wait for. The food is really hit or miss - today the pita was really stale and my salad had so much dressing on it that I threw half of it away. Fool me twice ... shame on me.

We were craving Greek food and thought we would try this place out. We ordered the traditional Mykonos gyro and the chicken kabob both as meals with rice. For two meals we paid $17.00. When they showed up there was one order of fries and no rice. When I asked him about the rice he looked at me skeptically and finally have me a side of rice. The rice was terrible and the gyro was nothing special. The chicken kabob lacked flavor and in the end we just bought something else for lunch. There are much better Greek places in the Valley.

Located at the food court at City Creek Center. We tried the #5 Gyro Plate with lemon rice which cost about $9.00 Not the smartest $9 that I've ever spent. The food was not that good at all. I felt that they deserved 1 more star because the place was clean, and the staff was alright. Otherwise, it would be just 1 star for them. There are many other choices at the food court in City Creek Center. Try one of them before coming here.

Mykonos is the latest addition to the food court in City Creek Center. It places itself in close competition with Taste of Red Iguana and Settebello, two of the more refined establishments in the food court, if such a thing exists. The prices are reasonable and the food is fantastic. But what really sets Mykonos apart is their friendly, welcoming staff. It is family-owned and operated and they are eager to make you feel welcome with small talk while your food is prepared. It's made fresh to order, so expect to wait a few minutes. The chicken souvlaki is seasoned just right, moist and served with rice, french fries or salad. Being a huge fan of Greek food, I always goes for the salad. A fresh bed of green lettuce, feta cheese and pitted(!) Kalamata olives pair perfectly with, dare I say, the best Greek dressing I have tasted in the Salt Lake Valley. The Greek salad ordered individually stands well on its own, but is the missing lettuce. This may just be a more traditional version of Greek salad, but would surely not be met with complaints if lettuce was included. If you still have room, I highly recommend trying the made-from-scratch baklava. My first try at baklava was at Mykonos, so I am far from an expert, but this traditional pastry is flaky, rich and flavorful. As much as I would love to give this place a five, the pita bread leaves much to be desired. If they invest in fresh pitas delivered daily by a local bakery, I couldn't utter a single negative syllable and would easily bump it up a star.

Apparently Yelp doesn't have the option for a zero star rating. We got a chicken shish kabob that was mediocre and the rice pilaf was completely flavorless. The "Greek" salad came drenched in a cream dressing. If the dressing was tasty, OK, maybe it'd work, but it was like watered down mayo. I've never seen a Greek salad with anything but a vinaigrette. There were only cucumbers and tomatoes, no onions, no feta and exactly 2 kalamatas. It was $7.50 for a very small portion and no meat. The really weird thing was, they peeled the cucumbers, but put the peels in the salad. Actually, the weird thing was that they refused to give us a cup for the bottled water we bought there. They even refused to SELL us a cup. We had a really bad experience, even though it was just a food court meal.

I hate to give a bad review. I hate it even more that the Mykonos is one of the new food spots in the fabulous new City Creek Center and I am giving them a bad review. On the second day after the center opened, I went to the food court and chose Mykonos because the line was not hideously long like all the others there, and because I always thought of Greek food as somewhat healthy. I ordered a falafel plate, stuffed grape leaves, and a spinach pie. My bill ended up at about $15.00. Yikes! That was a bit much for fast food. Sadly, I could hardly eat any of it. The falafel was bitter and dry, the grape leaves were mushy, and the spinach pie was greasy and soggy. I poked at the salad and hardly touched the lemon rice, which was flavorless. Boo! Listen up, owners of Mykonos...shape up or ship out. Bad start, missed mark! I won't go here again. My experience was less than satisfactory.

I used to love this place. It was similar to a place in Orem that went out of business so I was pretty happy to find food similar to that one. Unfortunately it doesn't hold up. I went when they first opened and the rice was rich with flavor, the chicken cooked with a great taste about it and the salad dressing is one of my favorite things. The Baklava is one of my favorites. We're coming up on 2 or 3 years that it's been open now and it's just tanked. The rice is mostly bland, the chicken tastes like it's been boiled then seasoned and seared as an afterthought. And the last straw for me was going in there and almost every thing on the menu was higher in price. Even the side order of salad dressing (which is about their only redeeming quality now) had a price increase. They had this great deal where you buy a meal and you can get either a baklava or a drink for a dollar. I loved this deal. Now it's gone, and while their baklava is still yummy, the tiny piece you get for 3 bucks is not worth the money. Greek Souvlaki, down the road has much better food for cheaper and you get quite a bit more of it. Head there, it's only a few blocks away.

Apparently earlier posts about the wretched Greek Salad have not spurred this restaurant to adjust accordingly. Today I was served something called a Greek Salad at a cost of $7.00. Is was essentially about one and one-half cups of diced tomatoes and cucumbers, 2 pepperocinni, and 2 olives in a very watery "dressing". No greens, no feta, no onions, no bell peppers, and no flavor. I actually thougth that they accidentally left off most of the ingredients until I looked at previous posts......and a picture of this sad, sad salad.

Ate here after playing basketball right across the mall at The Gym, and have to say the food is decent but overpriced. Ended up paying $15 for my meal, a little too much for mall food in my opinion. The food was ok, nothing special.
